The Human Tissue Procurement Service (HTPS), under the direction of Gabriel Sica, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Emory University School of Medicine, is a shared resource that collects, stores, and distributes human tissues to support the research of clinicians and scientists in the Winship Cancer Institute.
The HTPS is located in the Emory University Hospital with affiliated banking sites at Emory University Hospital - Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospitals. It maintains strong ties with multiple disease specific banks from established and developing programs, each with their own research coordinator, pathologist, and specialized protocols.
To provide investigators with high quality human tissue to support their basic, clinical, translational and epidemiological research needs.
